What is the story of the film?
The story of the film starts with the love of a mother and ends with the power of Goddess Kali. This is the story of Ambi (Kajol), who lives in Kolkata with her husband Shubhankar (Indraneil Sengupta) and daughter Shweta (Kherin Sharma). Shubhankar has to go to his ancestral village Chandrapur, where his father has died. He decides to sell his mansion 'Rajbari', but he dies mysteriously on the way.
Now Ambi has to come to the same village with his daughter Shweta, where fear, mystery and an old demon are lurking in every corner. Will Ambi be able to save her daughter? Will she be able to recognize the goddess power hidden in herself? The film has its roots in the Raktabeej Vadh story of Adipuran, where a mother finally takes the form of Kali and ends the demon.
