Tezaab movie was released in Hindi cinema in 1988. Starring many stars like Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Chunky Pandey and Kiran Kumar, this film won the hearts of the audience with its brilliant story. Tezaab ran in theaters for many months and kept printing lots of money at the box office.

Madhuri was not the first choice

Actually the film Tezaab was directed by N. Chandra, while the producer of the film was Pahlaj Nahalani. Pahlaj and Madhuri did not get along well because he did not like the actress's attitude. Recently, the filmmaker has spoken openly in an interview given to Pinkvilla and said-

Whenever I used to approach Madhuri Dixit for any of my films, she used to refuse. I offered her three films of Govinda and she rejected them without giving any reason. All three of my films were successful and on the other hand Madhuri's career graph started falling downwards. Then we were going to make the film Tezaab.

We first finalized the name of Meenakshi Seshadri for the lead actress. But due to her busy schedule, she failed to do it. Our search for the lead actress was on. Then someone from our team told me that Madhuri is ready for it.

I was surprised why she would reject the offer again. But this time she needed my offer. This is how she became Mohini of Tezaab. The situation is that Tezaab was a hit and Madhuri's acting career started again.

Tezaab was successful

Tezaab's name is also included in the highest box office collection movies of 1988. The story and songs of this movie are mentioned even today. Not only this, it is considered a cult movie in the career of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit.
