At a grand ceremony held at Hyderabad’s HITEX Exhibition Centre, Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangshri was crowned Miss World 2025. The competition featured participants from 108 countries, among whom India’s Nandini Gupta performed impressively, reaching the Top 20, though she missed out on a place in the Top 8.
Former Miss World Christina Piszczkova honored the new winner, Opal, by placing the crown on her head. This year’s runner-up was Haset Dereje from Ethiopia, while Maja Klazda from Poland was declared second runner-up, and Orely Joachim from Martinique took third runner-up.
The finale began with a cultural ramp walk featuring the Top 40 contestants, where India’s Nandini Gupta stood out as the showstopper. The event showcased diverse cultural displays from across the globe, which was a major highlight of the ceremony.
It is noteworthy that in the 72-year history of the Miss World pageant, India holds the record with six titles. The first Indian to win was Dr. Reita Faria in 1966, followed by Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, Priyanka Chopra, and Manushi Chhillar.
Opal Suchata’s victory is not only a proud moment for Thailand but also a recognition of emerging Asian talents on the Miss World stage.
