Now Allu Arjun to become Shaktimaan? Basil Joseph may direct it; the character was played by Mukesh Khanna in the 90s.

The iconic TV show Shaktimaan, one of the most popular shows on Indian television, is being revived. The makers were looking for a new face for this legendary character, and that search now seems to be over. According to media reports, South superstar Allu Arjun may play the role of Shaktimaan. This time, the story of Shaktimaan will be presented to the audience in a new style.

According to a report by Bollywood Bubble, Shaktimaan is being brought back to the big screen. Allu Arjun is likely to be seen in the lead role. Interestingly, well-known South director Basil Joseph will direct the project, which will be produced under the Sony Pictures banner. Moreover, two major international studios are ready to collaborate with Geetha Arts. However, no official statement has been released regarding this yet.

Basil rose to fame with 'Minnal Murali'
Basil Joseph received a lot of praise for the 2021 film Minnal Murali, which was released on the OTT platform Netflix due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mukesh Khanna also likes Allu Arjun
In 2024, Mukesh Khanna shared a video in which he said that Allu Arjun could be a good option for the next superhero role. The actor said, "I’m not committing to anything, but I feel Allu Arjun could be Shaktimaan. He has good looks and height. However, the makers of Pushpa turned him into a villain. Still, he would fit well in the role of Shaktimaan." He also added that the final decision would be in the hands of the makers.

For the past year, there has been controversy around Shaktimaan. Last year, Mukesh Khanna revealed in a podcast that Ranveer Singh wanted to play Shaktimaan. The actor waited for three hours to meet him for the rights. However, after meeting Ranveer, Mukesh refused to give him the rights because he felt Ranveer lacked the innocence in his face required for the character.
