Punjabi singer Harman Sidhu died in a late-night road accident on Friday after his car collided with a truck near Mansa. The crash occurred around midnight while the singer was driving back to his native village, Khyala, after completing a recording session. Police said Sidhu died on the spot due to the impact.
A team from Mansa Police reached the site shortly after the incident, sent the body for post-mortem to the civil hospital, and alerted the family. His last rites will be performed in Khyala on Saturday. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
Sidhu’s sudden death has shocked the Punjabi music community, which has recently lost several artists, including Rajvir Jawanda and Jaswinder Bhalla. Tributes poured in from industry colleagues who remembered him as a talented performer with a distinctive voice.
Sidhu rose to prominence more than a decade ago during the peak of Punjabi duet music. His hit cassette Paper Te Pyar made him a household name and a star at live shows. His pairing with singer Miss Pooja produced several popular tracks and established them as one of the most successful duos of that era.
In recent years, Sidhu had been preparing to relaunch his career to suit the evolving Punjabi music landscape. According to family members, he had completed the shoot for two new songs scheduled for release by the end of 2025. He had travelled to Mansa for promotional and recording work and was returning home when the accident occurred.
Sidhu is survived by his mother, wife and daughter. His father passed away a year and a half ago, leaving Sidhu as the family's only child and primary support. His death has left his family and fans grieving a career cut short just as he was preparing for a new chapter.
