Rajpal Yadav Granted Interim Bail After Depositing ₹1.5 Crore Demand Draft

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been granted interim bail by the High Court after depositing the remaining ₹1.5 crore through a demand draft, complying with a strict financial condition set by the court. The relief was approved once the payment was completed within the stipulated deadline.
During Monday’s hearing, the mode of payment became a key point of legal debate. The defence requested permission to submit the amount as an FDR (Fixed Deposit Receipt), but the court declined the proposal and ruled that only a demand draft would be accepted. The judge made it clear that no alternative payment format would be considered.
Court records noted that ₹25 lakh had already been submitted earlier via demand draft, along with another draft of ₹75 lakh filed previously. The bench had directed that the remaining ₹1.5 crore be deposited the same day by 3 pm in the specified format, warning that failure to meet the deadline would make interim bail impossible.
The defence complied before the cutoff time, submitting the required draft. Following verification of the payment, the court ordered Yadav’s release on interim bail. Observers present during the proceedings described the court’s stance as firm, with strict adherence to procedural requirements.
The matter remains pending, and the case will be heard again on its scheduled date. For now, the actor has secured temporary relief after fulfilling the financial condition imposed by the court.
