Ram Charan’s Red Fort Shoot for ‘Peddi’ Postponed Following Delhi Blast

The scheduled shoot of Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi at Delhi’s Red Fort has been postponed after a deadly blast near the Lal Qila Metro Station left 13 people dead and several injured on November 10.

The production team had obtained official permission to film at the Red Fort premises and surrounding areas on November 15 and 16. However, in the wake of the explosion, all bookings and filming permissions have been revoked as a security precaution.

The team was set to complete patchwork scenes for Peddi, which is nearing completion and slated for release on March 27, 2026. While the Red Fort sequence was meant to be one of the final shoots, production sources confirmed that the schedule will be shifted to a later date.

Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who was also scheduled to shoot for another project near the Red Fort, has not yet faced any reported disruption to her schedule.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, with veteran actors Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu in pivotal parts. The film has been shot extensively across Hyderabad, Sri Lanka, Pune, and portions of Old Delhi. Music for the project is composed by A.R. Rahman, and Netflix has reportedly acquired its digital streaming rights.

The November 10 explosion occurred around 6:51 p.m. when a blast ripped through a moving i20 car near Lal Qila Metro Station. The explosion triggered a fire and destroyed nearby vehicles, with investigators later discovering a severed hand 300 meters from the site. Authorities have tightened security around the Red Fort and other sensitive areas, prompting film units to suspend ongoing shoots until further notice.
