Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Crosses ₹1000 Crore Globally, Becomes 2025’s Highest-Grossing Bollywood Film

Ranveer Singh’s action thriller Dhurandhar has surged past the ₹1000-crore mark worldwide, cementing its position as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 and the fourth biggest Hindi movie of all time.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film collected ₹20.90 crore on its fourth Saturday (December 27), pushing its global tally to ₹1026 crore in just 23 days. The strong weekend performance has placed it ahead of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (₹917 crore) and within striking distance of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (₹1050 crore).

Trade analysts expect Dhurandhar to overtake Pathaan as early as Sunday, December 28, given its consistent daily collections of around ₹20 crore even in its fourth week. The film opened on December 5 and has maintained remarkable legs at the box office.

Among all Indian films across languages, Dhurandhar ranks ninth, trailing blockbusters such as Dangal, Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2: The Rule, RRR, KGF 2, Jawan, Pathaan, and Kalki 2898 AD.

The film’s success stands in sharp contrast to the muted opening of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, which debuted on December 25 and struggled to cross ₹18 crore in its first three days.

Buoyed by the film’s runaway success, producers have fast-tracked Dhurandhar 2, which is now scheduled for release on March 19, 2026. The sequel will clash with Yash’s highly anticipated.

Industry observers credit the film’s sustained performance to Ranveer Singh’s high-energy performance, tight action sequences, and strong word-of-mouth, marking a rare instance of a solo hero-led film dominating the box office in a year crowded with multi-starrers.
