Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Emerges as the Year’s Biggest Contender, Surpasses ‘Pathaan’ in Sixth-Day Collections

Ranveer Singh’s high-octane action drama Dhurandhar is fast emerging as one of the year’s strongest box-office performers, posting a robust ₹29.2 crore on its sixth day. With this, the film’s domestic total rose to ₹188.60 crore, placing it ahead of several major releases and fuelling debate on whether it is the biggest hit of the year.

The film’s sixth-day earnings matched the figure recorded by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, surpassing it in day-to-day performance trajectory. Dhurandhar has also outperformed Saiyaara, which collected ₹21.5 crore in its first six days. Its steady climb continues to outpace competitors in the action and mass-market genres.

Industry trackers say the film’s strong footfall in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, combined with repeat audiences for its action set pieces, has contributed to its exceptional weekday performance. Exhibitors report high occupancy rates even in morning shows, a metric typically seen with festival releases.

Worldwide, Dhurandhar has posted equally strong numbers. The film earned approximately ₹233.50 crore in its first five days and is now estimated to have crossed the ₹250–260 crore mark globally. Of this, over ₹50 crore came from overseas markets within the first four days, underscoring Ranveer Singh’s growing international draw.

In contrast, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s romantic drama Tere Ishq Mein is witnessing a more subdued run. Made on a budget of ₹85–95 crore, the film collected ₹1.85 crore on Wednesday, bringing its domestic total to ₹107 crore. Worldwide, it has reached ₹146 crore, indicating moderate but not runaway success.

With Dhurandhar maintaining momentum across regions and holding firm through the weekdays, trade analysts expect the film to cross the ₹200-crore domestic benchmark before the end of the week. If current trends continue, the Ranveer Singh starrer may finish as the year’s biggest earner — and potentially its most influential box-office success story.
