Salim Khan Hospitalised After Brain Bleed, Condition Stable Under Observation

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday morning after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, doctors confirmed. He was brought to the facility around 8:30 a.m. in an emergency condition and placed under immediate medical supervision. Physicians said his condition is currently stable and he is responding well to treatment.

According to attending specialist Dr Jalil Parker, Khan underwent a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) test, an advanced imaging procedure used to examine blood vessels in the brain. The doctor clarified that the procedure is not major brain surgery but a specialized diagnostic scan that helps detect blockages, leaks or vascular abnormalities with high precision. Medical staff said the test was conducted to identify the source and severity of the bleeding and guide treatment decisions.

Hospital authorities stated that Khan will remain under close observation for several days while doctors monitor neurological indicators and recovery response. A multidisciplinary medical team comprising neurologists, cardiologists and neurosurgeons has been assigned to oversee his care. Physicians are also assessing whether ventilatory support may be required, depending on his progress.

Family members reached the hospital soon after his admission. Actor Salman Khan reportedly paused his shooting schedule to be at his father’s bedside. His wife Salma Khan, daughters Alvira and Arpita, and other relatives have also been present. Several figures from the film industry visited or contacted the family to inquire about his health.

Hospital officials urged the public to rely only on verified updates and avoid circulating unconfirmed reports. They said discharge will be considered only after sustained improvement and stabilization of vital parameters.

Salim Khan is widely regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s most influential screenwriters, known for shaping blockbuster storytelling through his work in classic films. News of his hospitalization has prompted concern across the film fraternity and among admirers, though doctors emphasized that his condition is under control.

Medical experts note that early diagnosis and monitoring are critical in cases of cerebral hemorrhage, as outcomes often depend on timely intervention and careful management. For now, physicians say his recovery trajectory appears positive, though continued observation remains essential.
