Bollywood superstar Salman Khan celebrated his 60th birthday with a grand late-night bash at his Panvel farmhouse on Friday, attended by a constellation of celebrities including former India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sanjay Dutt, Tabu, Karisma Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh.
The actor, who turned 60 on Saturday, cut a cake with waiting paparazzi outside the farmhouse gates at midnight, a ritual he has followed for years. Family members including sister Arpita Khan Sharma, brother Sohail Khan, brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and niece Alizeh Agnihotri joined the festivities.

Dhoni arrived with wife Sakshi and their children, reinforcing his long-standing friendship with Salman. Other guests included Sangeeta Bijlani, Huma Qureshi, Manish Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sooraj Pancholi, director Kabir Khan with wife Mini Mathur, and social media personality Orry.

The celebration came under unprecedented security. Mumbai Police deployed more than 500 personnel across Salman’s Bandra residence and the Panvel farmhouse, doubling forces in the surrounding areas. Y+ category protection, helicopters, drones and traffic diversions were in place following threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and a 2024 firing incident outside his Galaxy Apartment.

Authorities said the heightened vigil, coordinated by the Special Commissioner of Law and Order, also included active cyber monitoring to prevent misinformation or provocative campaigns on social media.

Salman’s birthday parties have long been one of Bollywood’s most anticipated events, drawing crowds of fans and photographers. This year, however, security overshadowed the glamour, underscoring the persistent challenges the actor has faced since the 2024 attack.
Despite the tensions, the evening remained a warm gathering of friends and family as Salman marked six decades in the public eye.
