Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ to Release Worldwide on March 5, 2027; Film to Debut in Eight Languages

The makers of Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, have officially announced the film’s release date. The much-anticipated pan-India project will hit theatres worldwide on March 5, 2027, T-Series confirmed on Friday evening through a social media announcement.

The production house unveiled a monochrome poster to mark the announcement, accompanied by the caption: “Remember. Spirit is going to be released worldwide on March 5, 2027.” The confirmation ends months of speculation around the film’s timeline and positions Spirit as one of the biggest theatrical releases slated for 2027.

According to the announcement, Spirit will be released in eight languages—Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean—underscoring the makers’ intent to reach audiences beyond traditional Indian markets. The multilingual rollout reflects the growing global appeal of Indian cinema and Prabhas’s established presence across regions.104

Fan reactions were swift following the announcement. Social media platforms were flooded with comments praising Prabhas’s pan-India stardom, with many calling him the “number one pan-India star.” While several fans expressed excitement, others questioned the long wait, asking why the release was scheduled nearly two years away.

The release date announcement follows the unveiling of the film’s first poster on New Year’s Day. The poster drew significant attention for its stark visual tone. Prabhas was seen in a rugged avatar—shirtless, with long hair, a thick beard and visible injury marks, along with bandages on his shoulders and arms. The imagery suggested a physically and emotionally intense character, a signature associated with Vanga’s filmmaking style. Triptii Dimri appeared alongside him in a restrained, serious look, adding to the intrigue surrounding her role.103

Spirit marks Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s first collaboration with Prabhas and his next directorial venture after the commercial success of Animal. Industry observers expect the film to follow Vanga’s established approach of character-driven storytelling, though official details regarding the plot and supporting cast remain under wraps.

With its ambitious language release plan, high-profile cast, and a director known for polarising yet commercially successful cinema, Spirit is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched projects in the coming years. Further updates on production milestones and promotional schedules are expected in the months ahead.
