Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of Animal, is set to bring together Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in the lead roles for his upcoming film.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has officially joined the cast of Sandeep Vanga Reddy's film Spirit. In this film, Deepika will be seen alongside her Kalki 2898 AD co-star, Prabhas. The shooting for Spirit was initially scheduled to begin at the end of last year. However, Deepika had to turn down the offer at that time due to her pregnancy. When the film's production got delayed, Deepika accepted the offer and is now on board for the project.

Deepika Initially Rejected the Film

According to a report, Spirit was initially scheduled to begin shooting at the end of 2024. At that time, Deepika Padukone had to turn down the offer due to her pregnancy, as her dates couldn’t align with the film's schedule. However, due to a delay in the filming schedule, Sandeep Vanga went back to Deepika with the revised timeline, and now the actress has agreed to be a part of the film.

Excited to Work with Sandeep Vanga

Sources close to the film revealed that Deepika will play a crucial role in Spirit. She was impressed by the script and the nuances of her character. Deepika has expressed how much she likes her role and is very excited to work with Sandeep Vanga for the first time.

The shooting for Spirit is expected to begin in October 2025 and the film could release in the early months of 2027. Alongside Deepika Padukone, the film will feature Prabhas. Before this, Deepika and Prabhas were seen together in Kalki 2898 AD.
