Sanjay Kapoor's last rites to be held in Delhi: Father-in-law says there may be a delay in bringing the body to India; death was due to a heart attack.

Actress Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband and businessman Sanjay Kapoor passed away in London on June 12. His last rites are to be held in Delhi, and arrangements are being made to bring his mortal remains to India. However, due to some legal procedures, there might be a delay in this process.

Sanjay was an American citizen and passed away in the UK. Therefore, before bringing his body to India for the final rites, a lengthy legal process needs to be followed.

Speaking to NDTV, Sanjay's father-in-law Ashok Sachdev said that the last rites will take place in Delhi. Arrangements are being made to bring his body to India. However, due to legal formalities, there could be a delay in the funeral. He also mentioned that a postmortem is currently underway in London. Until the paperwork is complete, the body cannot be brought to India for the last rites.

Sanjay Kapoor was the ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor.

To note, Sanjay was married three times and had three children. His first marriage was in 1996 to fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, which lasted four years. They did not have any children. In 2014, Karisma and Sanjay filed for divorce by mutual consent, and their divorce was finalized in 2016.

After their separation, Sanjay married Priya Sachdev in 2017. The couple has a son named Azarius. Sanjay also raised Priya's daughter Safira from her previous marriage along with their son.
