Theft of ₹18 Lakh Reported at Travis Scott’s Mumbai Concert

Mumbai Police have launched an investigation after multiple instances of theft were reported during American rapper Travis Scott’s concert at the Mahalaxmi Race Course on November 19. According to officials, mobile phones and gold jewellery worth an estimated ₹18 lakh were stolen from attendees during the event, which drew thousands of fans as part of Scott’s Circus Maximus World Tour 2025.

Police said they have received formal complaints about 24 missing mobile phones and 12 stolen gold chains. Most complainants approached the Tardeo Police Station shortly after the concert, reporting thefts that occurred inside the crowded arena.

A case has been registered against unidentified individuals under Sections 303(2) and 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigators are currently analysing CCTV footage from the venue in an effort to identify suspects and trace the movement of stolen items. Additional teams have been deployed to track IMEI numbers of missing phones and review possible resale routes.

Officials said the scale of theft suggests the involvement of an organised group that may have targeted the high-traffic zones near entry gates and performance pits. Police are also examining video recordings captured by private event security personnel to determine patterns or coordinated activity.

The Mumbai show was Scott’s second India performance of the tour, following back-to-back concerts in Delhi on October 18 and 19. The India leg of the tour was produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, which is expected to share its internal security and crowd management footage with investigators.

Travis Scott, known globally for chart-topping hits such as Sicko Mode, Goosebumps, Antidote, and Highest in the Room, performed before a packed audience, marking one of the biggest international music events in Mumbai this year.

Police said recovery efforts are underway and urged additional victims, if any, to come forward with details to assist the investigation.
