Television actor Anuj Sachdeva was allegedly assaulted by a fellow resident in his housing society in Goregaon (West) on Sunday evening, triggering outrage after the actor shared a video of the incident on social media. The video, recorded by Sachdeva himself, shows a man abusing and striking him with a stick while issuing threats.
Sachdeva, known for his roles in popular television shows such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Swaragini and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, said the altercation took place at Harmony Mall Residency. According to the actor, the dispute stemmed from a disagreement over parking and escalated into a violent confrontation involving his pet dog.
In the footage posted on his official Instagram account, Sachdeva appears visibly injured, with blood seen on his head. He can be heard saying that the man attempted to kill him, while the alleged attacker continues to use abusive language. Audio from the video suggests the argument began over claims that Sachdeva’s dog had bitten someone, a charge he denied.

In a caption accompanying the video, the actor said he was sharing the footage as evidence, fearing further harm to himself or his property. He identified the alleged assailant as a resident of A Wing, Flat No. 602, and appealed for immediate action from authorities.
The incident has prompted strong reactions from members of the entertainment industry. Several actors and public figures, including Nauheed Cyrusi, Ishita Arun and Kishwer Merchant, expressed concern in the comments section and urged Sachdeva to file a police complaint. Many tagged the Mumbai Police, calling for swift and strict action.

As of late Sunday night, there was no official confirmation from the police regarding an FIR or arrests in the case. Sources said the video is being examined, and further action will depend on the actor’s formal complaint and medical report.
The incident has once again raised concerns over resident safety and dispute resolution within housing societies in Mumbai.
