Veteran Actor Satish Shah Passes Away at 74; Bollywood Pays Tribute

Veteran Bollywood and television actor Satish Shah passed away on Saturday afternoon at the age of 74. The actor had been battling kidney-related health issues.
His body was brought from Hinduja Hospital to his residence in the morning, followed by his last rites at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.
The funeral saw a strong turnout from the film and television industry. Rajesh Kumar, who played his on-screen son in the popular TV show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, and Ashok Pandit carried his mortal remains. Actor Neel Nitin Mukesh, senior actor Naseeruddin Shah, Farah Khan, Tiku Talsania, Jackie Shroff, and Ali Asgar were among the prominent celebrities who paid their respects.
Actress Rupali Ganguly, who portrayed his daughter-in-law in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, was visibly emotional during the final farewell. Director Kunal Kohli, accompanied by his wife, also visited to offer condolences. Dilip Joshi, known for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and Sumit Raghavan, another on-screen son from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, were also present.
Satish Shah’s manager, Ramesh Kadatala, who had accompanied him to Hinduja Hospital, shared that the actor collapsed during lunch around 2 PM on Friday and was declared dead shortly after reaching the hospital.
Satish Shah leaves behind a rich legacy in Indian cinema and television, remembered for his impeccable comic timing, versatile acting, and memorable roles across decades.
