Wedding Rumours Surround Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur Ahead of Valentine’s Day; No Official Confirmation Yet

Speculation around the personal lives of actors Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur has resurfaced, with fresh reports claiming the two may be planning a private wedding around Valentine’s Day. The reports, however, remain unverified, with neither actor issuing any confirmation.

According to a report by The Free Press Journal, the alleged ceremony, if it takes place, is expected to be a low-key affair attended only by close family members and friends. The report has fuelled widespread curiosity online, particularly as Valentine’s Day approaches, but no details regarding the venue, date or guest list have been officially corroborated.

The renewed buzz follows months of dating speculation involving the two actors. Rumours first gained traction last year when Dhanush attended the premiere of Mrunal Thakur’s film Son of Sardaar 2 in August. Their public appearance together sparked conversations on social media, which intensified further after Mrunal was seen at the wrap-up party of Dhanush’s film Tere Ishq.105

Social media activity also drew attention, with fans noting that Mrunal follows Dhanush and his two sisters on Instagram. While such details added to the speculation, neither actor publicly acknowledged a romantic relationship.

Addressing the rumours earlier, Mrunal Thakur had categorically denied dating Dhanush. Speaking at a public event, she clarified that they share a cordial friendship and that Dhanush had attended the Son of Sardaar 2 premiere at the invitation of actor Ajay Devgn. Her statement at the time was aimed at dispelling growing conjecture around their personal equation.

Contradicting that clarification, a separate report by News18 Showsha quoted an unnamed source claiming that the two were indeed dating but had chosen to keep the relationship private as it was still in its early stages. The source suggested that the actors share similar outlooks and are comfortable being seen together, with support from their close circle.

Dhanush’s personal life has been under public scrutiny in recent years. He married filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth in 2004, and the couple has two sons, Yatra and Linga. They announced their separation in 2022 and finalised their divorce in 2024.

On the professional front, both actors continue to remain busy. Dhanush was last seen in Idli Kadai and Tere Ishq, while Mrunal Thakur appeared in Son of Sardaar 2. She has two releases lined up this year—Do Deewane Shehar Mein and Dacoit: A Love Story.

Until an official statement is issued, the wedding reports remain speculative, with industry observers urging caution against drawing conclusions from unconfirmed claims.
