Book Release at International Sanskrit Conference in California

The second edition of the book “Empowering Minds, Transforming Lives: Sree Narayana Guru’s Philosophy of Education & Skill Development” was formally released during the First Sanskrit Annual International Conference 2026, organized by Aria University in association with SYAAM, at Milpitas, California, USA.
The book was released by the Chief Guest, Padma Bhushan Awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, eminent scholar, author, and former Member of Parliament. The authors, Dr. Prakash Divakaran, Vice-Chancellor, Himalayan University, India, and Dr. Sureshkumar Madhusudhanan, were present on the occasion and received the first copies of the publication.
The conference, themed “Sanskrit as a Global Knowledge System: Integrating Ancient Wisdom with Modern Technology,” brought together scholars, academicians, researchers, and Sanskrit enthusiasts from different parts of the world to deliberate on the contemporary relevance of Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems.
The newly released second edition highlights the visionary educational philosophy of Sree Narayana Guru, emphasizing inclusive education, vocational training, skill development, dignity of labour, and social transformation. The authors argue that Guru’s educational vision, articulated nearly a century ago, remains highly relevant in addressing present-day challenges related to employability, equitable access to education, and holistic human development.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prakash Divakaran noted that Sree Narayana Guru’s educational ideals provide a valuable framework for building a skilled, ethical, and compassionate society. Dr. Sureshkumar Madhusudhanan emphasized that the book seeks to bridge historical insights with contemporary educational practices and policy discussions.
The release of the book added a significant academic dimension to the international conference, reinforcing the importance of integrating India’s intellectual heritage with modern educational and technological advancements.
