Dharti Dredging Targets ₹90 Cr in FY26 as Inland Waterways Gain Momentum

Emerging from years of financial challenges, Dharti Dredging & Infrastructure Ltd (DDIL) is now poised for strong growth, setting an ambitious revenue target of ₹90 crore for the financial year 2025–26.

With confidence bolstered by rising demand for inland waterway infrastructure, the company anticipates doubling this figure in the subsequent year.

The turning point for DDIL came in July 2023 when it was acquired by the Yogayatan Group through a court-sanctioned resolution plan under the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). Since then, the firm has undergone a substantial overhaul under the leadership of Dr. Ameya Pratap Singh, who took charge as Managing Director. Strategic restructuring, accelerated project delivery, and improved corporate governance have helped stabilize operations.

In 2024, Dharti Dredging secured a series of high-value contracts, particularly on key inland routes along the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers. These include vital assignments from the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and the India–Bangladesh Protocol Route, with support from global institutions such as the World Bank.

With a project pipeline exceeding ₹1,000 crore, the company sees long-term growth potential in India's evolving logistics sector. The increasing emphasis on inland waterways as an alternative to congested road and rail networks is creating fresh momentum in the dredging industry.

“This journey is not just about bouncing back financially. It’s about proving how vision and disciplined execution can rejuvenate a legacy infrastructure brand,” said Dr. Ameya Pratap Singh. “We are building more than projects — we’re contributing to India’s next-gen transport systems.”

Industry analysts believe that DDIL’s revival highlights the effectiveness of India’s insolvency and restructuring framework when paired with decisive leadership. While the sector still grapples with seasonal water-level variations and coordination challenges, the outlook remains promising.

With operations now extending across eastern India and new initiatives underway to strengthen regional and cross-border connectivity, Dharti Dredging is positioning itself as a cornerstone in India’s inland transport revolution.
