India Scores Major Diplomatic Win: State-Sponsored Terrorism Mentioned in FATF Report for First Time, Blow to Pakistan

In a significant development, the FATF has for the first time included “state-sponsored terrorism” in its official report, marking a major diplomatic success for India. The move is seen as a setback for Pakistan, long accused of sheltering and supporting terror outfits.

FATF has included the concept of State Sponsored Terrorism in India's fight against terrorism for the first time in its report (FATF report 2025). This means that a nation provides financial assistance to terrorist organizations as part of its policy. India has already introduced this concept. Now for the first time, the international organization Financial Action Task Force has also given it a place in its report.

Financial Action Task Force, an international organization that monitors the funding of terrorist groups, has given place to State Sponsored Terrorism for the first time in its report (FATF report 2025). India has already introduced the concept of this concept. FATF has explained in its report how the major terrorist organizations of Pakistan get funding.

Before we move ahead on this, let us first understand what is State Sponsored Terrorism? Actually, when any nation helps terrorists financially, it is called State Sponsored.
