- The Combat Parachute System has been developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
2. Telugu actress and playback singer Rao Balasaraswati passes away
Telugu actress and playback singer Rao Balasaraswati passed away on Wednesday. She is considered the first playback singer of Telugu cinema.
- Rao Balasaraswati started her singing career at the age of 6.
- She sang more than 2000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
- She also has the honor of being the first 'Light Music' singer on All India Radio.

3. British government imposes sanctions on Nayara Energy Limited
The British government imposed sanctions on Nayara Energy Limited's Jamnagar oil refinery on October 15.
- These sanctions are due to restrictions imposed on Russia's two largest oil companies, Lukoil and Rosneft, which hold 49.13% stake in Nayara.
