Ashoka University Opens Young India Fellowship 2026–27 Admissions

Ashoka University has officially opened the application cycle for the Young India Fellowship (YIF) Class of 2026–27, its flagship one-year postgraduate programme. Around 100 candidates will be selected through a rigorous, holistic process, and all admitted Fellows will receive partial or full scholarships, according to university announcements.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have a recognized undergraduate degree in any discipline by July 2026, including final-year students.

There is no age limit; the fellowship considers candidates from diverse academic, professional, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Scholarship Details:

All Fellows will receive at least a 25% waiver on tuition fees.

Other selected Fellows may receive up to 100% scholarship, which can cover tuition, residence, and meals, along with a stipend.

The Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship — awarded to candidates with exceptional profiles continues for this cohort.

The scholarship funding has been significantly boosted through support from HDFC Bank.
Programme Structure:
The YIF is built around interdisciplinary learning, combining around 18–20 courses, a real-world project, and regular mentoring. Fellows receive a postgraduate diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies upon completion.
Selection Process:

Applications are first reviewed holistically. Shortlisted candidates are invited to interviews lasting 25–40 minutes.

Some are offered the Chancellor’s Scholarship based on their interview performance and overall profile.
