Bihar Board has taken a big step to make its examination system more transparent and prevent copying and malpractice. The board has established 10 high-tech examination centres across the state’s 9 divisions, with a total capacity of 11,392 candidates taking exams at the same time.
High-tech exam centres have been set up at the following locations with their seating capacities: Bapu Examination Campus, Patna (2,980); Model Centre, Gaya (1,168); Darbhanga (1,168); Muzaffarpur (1,168); Bhagalpur (1,168); Munger (620); Saharsa (620); Chhapra (692); and Purnia (640).
All these centres have been designated as model examination centres. They will support both computer-based and paper-based exams. The largest centre is the Bapu Examination Campus in Patna, which can accommodate 2,980 candidates simultaneously.
Centre’s include AI-enabled CCTV surveillance, biometric attendance, centralized control room connectivity, facilities for writers for disabled candidates, and a 200-metre restricted entry zone to prevent unauthorised access. The board says these measures will improve exam fairness and provide students with a secure environment to appear for exams.
