The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission has launched the recruitment process for Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) posts under Advertisement No. 05-Exam/2026. The commission has announced a total of 1,565 vacancies for eligible candidates seeking government jobs in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the official notification, the online application process is currently underway and candidates can submit their forms till May 15, 2026. The recruitment drive has drawn significant attention among aspirants preparing for state-level government examinations, making it one of the major Government Updates in the employment sector. Online Registration Begins

UPSSSC has activated the online registration link for Assistant Statistical Officer Recruitment 2026 on its official portal. Interested candidates are required to complete the application process through online mode only. The commission has fixed May 15, 2026, as the last date for both registration and fee payment. Applicants will also get an opportunity to make corrections in their submitted forms till May 22, 2026.

Officials advised candidates to complete the application process before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or server-related problems. The recruitment process is expected to witness a large number of applications due to the high number of vacancies announced by the commission.

Vacancy Details Released

As per the official advertisement, a total of 1,565 posts have been notified for the Assistant Statistical Officer position. The vacancies are distributed among various reservation categories including General, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Candidates can check detailed category-wise seat distribution in the official recruitment notification issued by UPSSSC. Eligibility Conditions Explained

In addition, applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Commerce, Economics or Statistics from a recognised university in India.

Application Process Details

UPSSSC has provided two different methods for candidates to apply online for the recruitment examination. In the first method, candidates can log in using their PET Registration Number, Date of Birth, Gender, Domicile and Category details. The second option allows applicants to log in through OTP verification using the UPSSSC PET 2025 Registration Number and OTP password.

After successful login, candidates will be able to view their personal details, uploaded photographs and signatures already linked with their PET registration data. Applicants are then required to fill post-related details and pay the prescribed application fee of Rs 25 through the available online payment methods.

Documents Required

Candidates have been advised to keep all required documents ready before beginning the registration process. These include educational certificates, PET score card, identity proof, domicile documents, passport-size photograph, signature and other relevant certificates. Officials also instructed applicants to carefully review all details before final submission of the form.

Any mismatch in uploaded documents or incorrect information may result in rejection of the application during the verification process. The commission further advised candidates to keep a printed copy of the final submitted application form for future reference.

Selection Process Ahead

The Assistant Statistical Officer recruitment examination is expected to be conducted in multiple stages as per UPSSSC recruitment guidelines. The selection process may include shortlisting based on PET scores, followed by the main written examination and document verification process.
