CLAT 2026 Registration Begins August 1

Registration for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 will begin from August 1. The exam date has also been announced; candidates are advised to check the official schedule and prepare accordingly.

The schedule has been released by the Consortium of National Law Universities (Consortium of NLUs) for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026) to be conducted for admission in UG and PG courses run in law colleges across the country. Candidates who are preparing for this exam will be able to apply online from 1 August 2025 to appear in it. The application process will continue till the last date of 31 October 2025.


According to the notification issued by the Consortium of National Law Universities, this exam will be conducted on 7 December 2025 (Sunday). The exam will be conducted in one shift for which the timing will be from 2 pm to 4 pm. Admit cards for the exam will be made available for download a few days before the exam date, which all applicants will be able to download online. Details will not be sent to any candidate personally.

How much will be the fee

As per last year, for CLAT exam, General and OBC category candidates will have to pay Rs 4000 as fee and SC/ST category candidates will have to pay Rs 3500. All candidates should keep in mind that this fee is as per last year, if there is a change in the fee after the release of new notification, it will be updated. What is the eligibility to participate in CLAT

For admission in 5-year integrated program, it is necessary for the candidate to pass 12th/Intermediate from any stream with minimum 45 percent marks. Reserved category candidates have been given a relaxation of 5 percent marks in the pass percentage.

Apart from this, for admission in PG program, LLB degree should be obtained with 55 percent marks. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must have obtained this degree with 50% marks. There is no age limit for applying for CLAT 2025.
