Government Jobs: UPSC Releases CDS I 2026 Notification; Graduates and Engineers Eligible, Salary Up to ₹1.77 Lakh

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the notification for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination I, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply through the official portals upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in. The selected candidates will join courses commencing between January and April 2027. The deadline for fee payment is December 30.

Educational Qualifications

  • Indian Naval Academy: Engineering degree from a recognised university.

  • IMA & OTA: Graduation in any discipline.

  • Air Force Academy: A degree with Physics and Mathematics at the Class 12 level, or an engineering degree.

Age Criteria

  • IMA & INA: Unmarried male candidates born between 2 January 2003 and 1 January 2008.

  • Air Force Academy: Age between 20 and 24 years; candidates must be born between 2 January 2003 and 1 July 2007.

  • Officers Training Academy: Candidates born between 2 January 2002 and 1 January 2008.

Selection Procedure

  • Written Examination

  • SSB Interview

  • Medical Examination

Application Fee

  • General/OBC: ₹200

  • SC/ST and all women candidates: Exempted

Salary Structure

Pay band ranges from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 per month, along with applicable allowances.

Exam Pattern

IMA, INA, AFA:

  • English – 2 hours – 100 marks

  • General Knowledge – 2 hours – 100 marks

  • Mathematics – 2 hours – 100 marks

  • SSB Interview – 300 marks

Officers Training Academy:

  • English – 2 hours – 100 marks

  • General Knowledge – 2 hours – 100 marks

  • SSB Interview – 300 marks

  2. Click on Online Application

  3. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR)

  4. Log in and select the CDS I 2026 exam

  5. Fill out the application form and upload documents

  6. Pay the required fee and submit

  7. Download and save a copy of the form
