IMA, SNS Institutions Set Two Elite World Records in BLS Training, Child Safety Awareness

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Coimbatore Branch, in association with SNS Institutions and partner hospitals, has set two Elite World Records through large-scale programmes focused on basic life support (BLS) training and child safety awareness.Both record attempts were held at a single venue in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu, on August 27, 2026, according to Elite World Records.The first record was for the Most Participants in a Basic Life Support Training Session at a Single Venue. A total of 2,074 participants took part in the session, making it the current record in the category.The second record was achieved for the Most Participants in a Personal Safety and Child Protection Awareness Program at a Single Venue, also with 2,074 participants. The record was set by the Women Doctors Wing of the IMA, Coimbatore Branch, along with SNS Institutions, Ponnammal Duraiswamy Eye Hospital and Sre Iswarrya Hospital.

Focus on emergency response and child safety

The BLS initiative was aimed at expanding awareness of basic emergency-response skills among a large group of participants. Basic life support training is designed to help people respond to life-threatening emergencies while professional medical assistance is being arranged.The second programme focused on personal safety and child protection awareness, bringing together more than 2,000 participants at one location.Elite World Records has listed both achievements as current records, with the attempts recorded on August 27.

Coimbatore event brings medical and educational institutions together

The initiatives brought together the medical community, educational institutions and healthcare organisations around two public-awareness themes: emergency preparedness and child protection.The participation figure of 2,074 was the defining feature of both record-setting programmes, making the event notable for its scale as well as its focus on public awareness.The recognition also places the IMA Coimbatore Branch and its partner institutions on the Elite World Records platform for these two categories.
