Indian Air Force Opens Online Application for Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2027

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially launched the online application process for Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme, inviting eligible young Indian citizens to apply for a chance to serve in the air force. The notification was released on 12 January 2026, and registrations are open until 1 February 2026.

Prospective candidates can submit the Agniveer Vayu 01/2027 online form through the official IAF recruitment portal at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in. The intake aims to recruit motivated and physically fit individuals for a four-year service tenure in various roles across the Indian Air Force, providing military training and career-building opportunities.

Who and What:
The recruitment drive is open to unmarried Indian male and female candidates who meet the age and educational eligibility criteria. Applicants must be born between 1 January 2006 and 1 July 2009, ensuring they are within the specified age limit set by the IAF.

Educational qualifications include passing Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Mathematics and English or holding a three-year engineering diploma or a recognised vocational course with the requisite subjects and marks as specified in the official notification.

When and Where:
The online registration began on 12 January 2026 and will remain open until 1 February 2026. Eligible candidates should complete their applications and fee payment before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Why It Matters:
The Agniveer Vayu recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme represents a significant opportunity for young aspirants to experience the structure, discipline, and training of the Indian Air Force, along with attractive monthly remuneration and benefits during their four-year tenure, including a Seva Nidhi package upon completion of service. Up to 25% of each intake may be absorbed into the regular cadre of the Air Force, subject to organisational needs and performance.

How and What’s Next:
The next key step in the selection process is the Phase-I online examination, scheduled for 30 and 31 March 2026, which is computer-based and tests candidates on subjects including English, reasoning, general awareness and subject-specific knowledge. Those who qualify will proceed to further stages including physical tests, adaptability assessments and medical evaluation.

Candidates are advised to consult the detailed official notification PDF available on the recruitment portal for full information on eligibility, syllabus, exam pattern, physical standards, and medical requirements.

The IAF has reiterated that the recruitment process is merit-based and transparent, urging applicants to avoid intermediaries and follow official channels for updates and submission of forms.
