North Central Railway opens recruitment for 1,763 apprentice posts: Free for women and reserved categories

The Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway (RRC NCR), has invited online applications for 1,763 Act Apprentice positions across its Prayagraj, Agra, and Jhansi divisions and workshops. The registration window opens on September 18, 2025, and closes on October 17, 2025

Successful candidates will undergo one year of on‐the‐job training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, earning a monthly stipend as per state government norms. Eligibility varies by trade but broadly requires candidates to have passed 10th class, 12th class, or hold an ITI certificate from NCVT/SCVT in the relevant discipline. The maximum age limit is 24 years, with relaxations of up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Ex‐servicemen.

Application fees are waived for women, SC, ST, PwBD, and transgender applicants. All other categories must pay Rs.100 to complete their registration. Selection is entirely merit‐based, calculated as the average of a candidate’s percentage marks in Matriculation and ITI, followed by document verification.

To apply, candidates must:

  • Visit rrcpryj.org and select the “Act Apprentice Recruitment 2025” link

  • Complete registration with personal details and valid e-mail/Mobile

  • Upload scanned certificates and photographs

  • Pay the fee if applicable and submit the form

  • Download and print the acknowledgement slip

This apprenticeship drive offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical railway skills and a recognized certificate, paving the way for future technical careers in Indian Railways.
