The examination was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode on 25 January 2026 across 110 cities and 259 centres nationwide. According to official figures, out of 53,453 registered candidates, 41,872 appeared for the single-shift test.
To access the results, candidates must log in with their application number and date of birth or password on the official CMAT portal. The downloadable scorecard contains section-wise marks, total marks and percentile, all of which will be critical in securing admission to postgraduate management programmes such as MBA and PGDM.
In preparation for the result declaration, the NTA had issued the provisional answer key on 31 January 2026 and provided a window for candidates to challenge it until 2 February 2026. Subject experts reviewed objections and finalised the answer key on the day results were announced. The final answer key and result were released simultaneously to ensure transparency and fairness.
The CMAT score is widely accepted by numerous business schools across India as a base criterion for admissions. Following result publication, individual institutes will begin their own selection procedures, which may include group discussions, personal interviews or written ability tests, depending on their admission policies.
Experts advise candidates to retain printed copies of their CMAT scorecards, as digital records alone may not be sufficient during institutional counselling sessions or further admissions steps. Additionally, aspirants should refer to official notifications from desired colleges for cutoff details and schedule announcements.
The timely release of the CMAT 2026 results marks a crucial milestone in the management admissions calendar, enabling qualified candidates to advance their applications to reputed business schools. With admission cycles now set to commence, students can plan participation in further rounds as outlined by individual institutes.
