The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the online application window for the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE) 2026, a national-level test for admission to undergraduate hospitality programmes across India. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official NTA portal within the notified deadline.
NCHM JEE is conducted annually for admission to the BSc programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration offered by Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) and other participating institutions affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). The examination is a key gateway for students aspiring to careers in hotel management, tourism and allied service sectors.
According to the official notification, the application process is entirely online. Candidates must complete registration, fill in personal and academic details, upload required documents and pay the examination fee digitally. NTA has advised applicants to verify eligibility conditions before submitting the form to avoid rejection at later stages.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Students appearing in the qualifying examination in 2026 are also eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling admission requirements at the time of counselling. Age criteria and relaxation for reserved categories will apply as per NCHMCT norms.
The entrance examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode at designated centres across the country. The question paper will assess candidates on numerical ability, analytical aptitude, reasoning, general knowledge, English language proficiency and aptitude for the service sector. The test is designed to evaluate both academic readiness and suitability for the hospitality industry.
NTA officials said the application process has been streamlined to ensure transparency and accessibility. Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of photographs and signatures in the prescribed format. The examination fee varies by category and must be paid through online payment modes such as debit card, credit card or net banking.
Admit cards will be issued to candidates who successfully complete the application process. Details regarding examination date, city intimation slips and result declaration will be announced separately on the official website. NTA has urged candidates to rely only on official notifications for authentic information and to avoid misleading claims from unofficial sources.
Following the declaration of results, qualified candidates will participate in the centralised counselling process conducted by NCHMCT for seat allocation across IHMs and affiliated institutions. The counselling process will be based on rank, preferences and availability of seats.
With hospitality and tourism showing steady growth, NCHM JEE 2026 is expected to attract a large number of applicants nationwide. Aspirants are advised to apply early and begin focused preparation to improve their chances of securing admission.
