NTA releases schedule for JEE Main 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the schedule for both sessions of JEE Main 2026 today, October 19. According to the notification, the JEE Main exam will be conducted in two phases: the first phase in January 2026 and the second phase in April 2026.

The JEE Main 2026 examination will be conducted in two sessions — the first from January 21 to 30, 2026, and the second from April 1 to 10, 2026.

The application process for the first session will begin in October 2025, while registration for the second session will open in the last week of January 2026. Candidates can apply through the NTA’s official website — jeemain.nta.ac.in.

To accommodate the expected rise in applicants, the NTA will increase the number of exam centers across various cities, ensuring candidates can choose centers closer to their homes. Additional facilities will also be arranged for students with disabilities.

Meanwhile, the NTA has advised candidates to update their certificates to avoid rejection of their applications. In a notification issued on September 29, candidates were asked to ensure the accuracy and validity of three key documents:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • UDID Card (for persons with disabilities)

  • Category Certificate

Applicants must verify that details such as name, date of birth, photograph, address, and father’s name on the Aadhaar card match their Class 10 marksheet. Candidates from reserved categories and those with disabilities should also ensure their certificates are renewed and valid before submission.
