Rajasthan Opens RAS 2024 Marks Re-totaling Window for Unsuccessful Candidates

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has opened a limited window for marks re-totaling for candidates who failed the main examination of the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination (RAS) 2024, offering them a chance to verify their scores under prescribed rules.

According to the commission, the facility is available to unsuccessful candidates from the main examination result declared on October 8, 2025. However, candidates belonging to horizontal reservation categories—departmental employees, ex-servicemen, outstanding sportspersons, and persons with disabilities—are excluded from this provision.

RPSC Secretary Ramniwas Mehta said eligible candidates can submit online applications for marks re-calculation from January 29 to February 6, 2026, up to midnight. Applications must be submitted through the examination dashboard on the commission’s official website. Offline applications or payments will not be accepted.

As per the notified rules, candidates will be charged a fee of ₹25 per question for re-totaling, payable online at the time of application. The commission has clarified that this process involves only the re-calculation of awarded marks and does not include re-evaluation or reassessment of answer sheets.

The RAS 2024 recruitment process, one of Rajasthan’s most competitive examinations, was notified on September 2, 2024. A total of 6.75 lakh candidates applied by the closing date of October 18, 2024. The preliminary examination was conducted on February 2, 2025, with 3,75,657 candidates appearing. Results were announced on February 20, following which 21,539 candidates qualified for the mains examination.

The mains examination was held on June 17 and 18, 2025, and its results were declared on October 8, 2025. Based on the mains performance, 2,461 candidates were shortlisted for the interview stage. The first phase of interviews commenced on December 1, 2025, and the process is ongoing.

Initially, the recruitment was announced for 733 posts. Subsequently, on February 17, 2025, the state government increased the total number of vacancies to 1,096. This includes 428 posts under State Services and 668 posts under Subordinate Services, significantly expanding opportunities for aspirants.

RPSC officials said the re-totaling provision is intended to ensure transparency and address any possible clerical errors in score calculation, while maintaining the integrity of the examination process. Candidates have been advised to carefully review the instructions before applying, as the outcome of re-calculation will be final.
