RSSB Issues Revised Peon Recruitment Result After Answer Correction, Merit List of 21 Lakh Candidates Reworked

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) on Friday released a revised result for the Grade Fourth (Peon) recruitment examination after correcting the answer to a disputed question, triggering a reworking of the merit list of nearly 21 lakh candidates. Following the revision, the board has again shortlisted candidates equal to twice the number of vacancies for document verification.

The revision stems from a controversy surrounding Question No. 108 in the examination. In the provisional answer key, option (D) was marked as correct. However, in the final answer key, the board changed the correct option to (B), despite no formal objection being raised during the objection window. This led to protests by candidates, who alleged discrepancies in evaluation and demanded a review.

After re-verifying the facts, the RSSB decided to restore option (D) as the correct answer and declare the result afresh. RSSB Chairman Alok Raj said the merit list was revised solely due to the correction of a single question and clarified that the change would largely impact borderline candidates whose scores were close to the cut-off.

“With the revised result, candidates equal to twice the number of advertised vacancies in the current merit list will be called for document verification shortly,” Raj said, adding that the recruitment process would continue strictly on the basis of merit and established rules.

The Grade Fourth recruitment examination was conducted from September 19 to 21, 2025, for 53,749 posts across Rajasthan. More than 21 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, making it one of the largest recruitment exercises conducted by the board in recent years. Final appointments will be issued after document verification and completion of all procedural formalities.

The revised result comes amid heightened scrutiny of the recruitment process. On Thursday, the RSSB uploaded the OMR sheets of shortlisted candidates online following complaints related to discrepancies and alleged irregularities. Candidates have been filing objections through the online portal, and officials indicated that the possibility of uploading fresh OMR sheets after the revised result cannot be ruled out.

The board has advised candidates to rely only on official notifications published on its website for updates related to document verification and further stages of the selection process.

To check the revised result, candidates can visit the official RSSB website at rssb.rajasthan.gov.in, navigate to the “Candidates Corner,” select the “Results” section, and click on the Grade Fourth Recruitment Result 2025 link. The merit list is available in PDF format and can be downloaded for future reference.
