SC, OBC Students Get ₹30.81 Crore Scholarships in East Godavari

₹30.81 crore was released to SC and OBC students in East Godavari during 2025–26 under Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes.

The Government has released ₹30.81 crore in scholarship assistance to Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class students in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district during 2025–26, with Direct Benefit Transfer helping streamline payments.

The support has been provided under the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes, which aim to help students from SC and OBC communities continue their education and reduce financial barriers.

Scholarship Support Expanded

The government continues to implement scholarship programmes for eligible students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes.

The Pre-Matric and Post-Matric schemes provide financial assistance to students at different stages of education, supporting families that may otherwise face difficulty meeting educational expenses.

₹30.81 Crore Released

During the financial year 2025–26, a total of ₹30.81 crore was released to SC and OBC students under the scholarship schemes in East Godavari district.

The assistance is intended to support eligible beneficiaries with education-related expenses and encourage continued participation in formal education.

DBT Makes Payments Faster

The government has increasingly relied on Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to improve the delivery of welfare assistance.

Under the system, scholarship payments are transferred directly into the Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. This reduces the need for multiple administrative steps between approval and payment.

Direct Bank Transfers

The DBT mechanism is also intended to improve transparency in scholarship disbursement.

By transferring assistance directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts, the system helps reduce delays and provides a clearer payment trail for government welfare programmes.

Students and families can therefore track scholarship assistance through their linked banking channels, subject to eligibility and verification requirements.

Support For Education

Scholarships play an important role in helping students continue their studies, particularly where household income can become a barrier to education.

Financial assistance under the SC and OBC scholarship programmes is designed to support students at different educational levels and encourage them to remain in the education system.

Focus On Transparency

The use of Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts and DBT reflects the government's broader effort to make welfare delivery more transparent and efficient.

The approach seeks to ensure that approved scholarship assistance reaches eligible students without unnecessary delays in the payment process.

East Godavari Beneficiaries

The Scholarship Update from East Godavari highlights the scale of educational assistance being delivered through central government-backed welfare schemes.

With ₹30.81 crore released during 2025–26, the scholarship programmes continue to provide financial support to SC and OBC students in the district. The government is also using DBT to make the disbursement process simpler, faster and more transparent.
