Student's petition in SC: 'Entrance exam in CM Shri schools against right to education
Digital Desk
11-year-old Janmesh Sagar has knocked on the Supreme Court's door against the entrance exam for CM Shri Schools.
The student claims that the Delhi government's policy of conducting entrance exams for admission to classes 6, 7 and 8 in CM Shri Schools is wrong.
The petition filed under Article 32 states that this entrance test violates Article 21-A (Right to Free and Compulsory Education) of the Constitution and Section 13 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act). Section 13 of the RTE Act explicitly prohibits any screening process in school admissions.
