UPSC Mains Exam 2025 Schedule Released

The UPSC has released the schedule for the Civil Services Mains Exam 2025. Candidates can now check the subject-wise exam dates and prepare accordingly.

The exam schedule for the Civil Services Mains Exam 2025 has been announced by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). The dates have been announced by UPSC in PDF format on the official website upsc.gov.in. According to the notification, the main exam will be conducted from 22 to 31 August 2025. All the candidates who have cleared the UPSC prelims exam and are preparing for the main exam can now speed up their exam preparations.

The CSE Main exam will be conducted by UPSC on 22, 23, 24, 30 and 31 August 2025. The subject wise schedule is as follows-

  • 22 August 2025: Paper 1 (Essay) (Morning Shift only)
  • 23 August 2025: 1st Shift- Paper 2 (General Studies-I), 2nd Shift Paper 3 (General Studies-II)
  • 24 August 2025: 1st Shift- Paper 4 (General Studies-III), 2nd Shift Paper 5 (General Studies-IV)
  • 30 August 2025: Paper A Indian Language (Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo/ Dogri/ Gujarati/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Kashmiri/ Konkani/ Maithili/ Malayalam/ Manipuri Marathi/ Nepali/ Odia/ Punjabi/ Sanskrit/ Santhali (Devanagari/ Olchiki Script)/ Sindhi (Devanagari/ Arabic Script)/ Tamil/ Telugu/ Urdu) (Morning Shift only)
  • 31 August 2025: 1st Shift- Paper VI, Optional Subject-Paper-1
  • 31 August 2025: 2nd Shift Shift- Paper VII, Optional Subject-Paper-2

Admit cards will be issued a few days before the exam

A few days before the UPSC CSE Mains Exam 2025 exam date, the admit cards of the candidates for the main exam will be made available for download. Admit cards will be issued only to those candidates who have cleared the prelim exam.

Candidates should keep in mind that whenever they go to the examination center, they must carry their admit card with them and also take one of the valid identity cards like Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter ID card, Driving License, Passport so that your verification can be done. Without identity card and admit card, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. For more details related to the exam, candidates can visit the official website.
