Born in Hisar, Haryana, Harshita was raised in Vadodara, Gujarat. She completed her schooling at Urmi and New Era Schools in Vadodara and pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Demonstrating academic excellence, she went on to become a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
While working as a CA, Harshita felt a calling towards public service. Motivated by a desire to address societal issues, especially those related to women's empowerment, she decided to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. She chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject, aligning with her interests in governance and policy-making.
Harshita's preparation was marked by discipline and strategic planning. She enrolled in the VisionIAS Foundation course, which provided her with a strong conceptual base.

Harshita's journey was deeply influenced by her family. After losing her mother to cancer a decade ago, her father, Govind Goyal, became her pillar of strength. He supported not only Harshita but also her siblings and grandparents. Upon hearing the news of her achievement, an emotional Govind expressed immense pride in his daughter's success, stating, "She has proven that daughters are no less than anyone"
