After multiple propulsion and helium pressurization failures during its June 2024 Crew Flight Test, Boeing’s CST‑100 Starliner has been officially grounded. NASA, insisting on resolving the critical issues—particularly faulty thrusters in the service module’s “doghouse” and helium leaks—will only allow its return with an uncrewed mission no earlier than early 2026.

Last year, the Boeing Starliner, which carried many astronauts including Sunita Williams into space, suddenly malfunctioned. Due to this, the crew members had to stay in space for several months, after which NASA called the Boeing Starliner back to Earth without the crew members.
