The US has once again described its relations with India and Pakistan as strong and said that there has been no change in its friendship with both countries.
State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce made it clear that US diplomats are fully committed to working together with both countries.
This statement came after Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir's statement in Florida that if Pakistan faces any major threat, it can use nuclear weapons to target India and "half the world".
'We helped prevent tensions'
Tammy Bruce said in a State Department briefing that the US has played an important role in reducing tensions between India and Pakistan in the past as well.
He said that when there was a danger of tensions between the two countries increasing, Vice President JD Vance, President Donald Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio reportedly handled the situation together.
Referring to the India-Pakistan tension, Bruce said, "We prevented attacks through phone calls and talks and brought the two countries together to create a path that would last for a long time. It is a matter of pride for us that Foreign Minister Rubio, Vice President Vance and our senior leaders succeeded in preventing that possible catastrophe."
