China says, “We neither plot a war nor participate in it,” replying to Donald Trump’s 100% tariff warning.
China React On US Tariff Over Russia Oil Sanctions: China has responded to US President Donald Trump's threat of imposing 100% tariff on buying oil from Russia. China clearly said that neither do we conspire for war nor do we participate in it. In fact, US President Donald Trump recently appealed to NATO countries to stop buying oil from Russia and impose strict economic sanctions on it. Trump said that some NATO countries are still weakening the alliance's position by buying oil from Russia. He warned that the US will not impose new sanctions on Russia on a large scale until NATO countries unite and take such a step. Meanwhile, during a visit to Slovenia, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that war is not a solution to any problem and sanctions only complicate the situation. Wang Yi said that China neither conspires for war nor does it participate in it, which is being considered a direct message to the US. In the meeting of G-7 Finance Ministers, US Finance Minister Scott Besant said that Putin's 'war machine' cannot be weakened until Russia's oil income is completely stopped. He appealed to all countries to take concrete steps in this direction. At the same time, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi also made it clear in a recent conversation with US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio that both countries should not deviate from their path and should maintain cooperation. China indicated that it does not want to go on the path of confrontation under any circumstances.
Pressure on India and China too
America has already imposed heavy tariffs on India for buying oil from Russia. While direct sanctions have not been imposed on China yet. The Trump administration wants the G-7 countries to also increase pressure on India and China, because both these countries are big energy buyers of Russia.
