Dangerous Congo virus enters Pakistan, panic due to death of three people

The dangerous Congo virus has entered Pakistan, causing widespread concern after three reported deaths. Health authorities are on high alert, urging preventive measures to contain the outbreak.

 

 

 

A dangerous virus has entered Pakistan and three people have died due to this virus. Two of the dead are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one is from Karachi.

According to the Express Tribune report, a 25-year-old fisherman from Ibrahim Haidri in Sindh has died due to Congo virus and information has come to light about death due to Congo in Karak and North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The health official said that Muhammad Zubair, a resident of Malir district, first felt symptoms like high fever, muscle pain, stomach discomfort, cough, diarrhea, bleeding and unconsciousness on June 16.

When the patient was admitted to Jinnah Hospital, doctors suspected that he was infected with the Congo virus. However, the patient was shifted from Jinnah Hospital to Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and died on June 19.

Three more patients are being treated

The Sindh Health Department has identified and monitored the contacts of the deceased in the affected area. Three more patients infected with the Congo virus are being treated in the isolation ward of the hospital.
