North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has strongly defended the North Korea nuclear programme, stating that recent global conflicts underline the need for powerful military capabilities. His remarks came during an address to the country’s Parliament on Monday, with state media releasing details on Tuesday.

According to officials, Kim pointed to ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly involving the United States and Israel, to justify Pyongyang’s continued investment in nuclear weapons.
