Over 10 Lakh Cyber Attacks Target India Post-Pahalgam Terror Strike

Following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, India's digital infrastructure faced over 10 lakh cyber attacks, primarily from Pakistan, the Middle East, Indonesia, and Morocco. Maharashtra Cyber officials attribute these coordinated attempts to Islamist hacking groups, suggesting a deliberate cyber warfare campaign. Authorities have successfully thwarted many of these attacks, emphasizing the need for heightened cybersecurity vigilance.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, there has been a tremendous increase in cases of cyber attack in India. After the Pahalgam attack, the hacking gang of various countries has carried out more than 1 million cyber attacks on Indian systems (10 Lakh Cyber Attacks in India).
This has been revealed by Maharashtra Cyber Cell. Maharashtra Cyber said that the incidents of digital attacks have increased after the terrorist attack on 22 April in Kashmir.

Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra Cyber Department, Yashasvi Yadav said, "There have been more than 1 million cyber attacks on India after the Pahalgam attack. He said that these attacks targeted by Indian websites and portals were carried out from Pakistan, Middle East, Indonesia and Morocco.

He said that many hacking groups claimed to be an Islamist group. He said that it could probably be a cyber war. The official said that Maharashtra Cyber thwarted many of these attacks.

He said that the nodal office has prepared an advice for all government departments, asking them to strengthen their cyber infrastructure. On 22 April, 26 people were killed by militants in Basaron near Pahalgam in South Kashmir, most of which were tourists.
