Pakistani Woman Appeals to PM Modi, Seeks Deportation of Husband Allegedly Staying Illegally in India

A Pakistani woman, Nikita Nagdev, has formally appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking action against her husband, Vikram Nagdev, alleging that he abandoned her during the COVID-19 pandemic and is now engaged to another woman. The matter has also been brought to the Sindhi Panchayat in Indore, which has flagged concerns over Vikram’s alleged illegal stay in India.

According to Nikita, the couple married on January 26, 2020, in Karachi, Pakistan, following Hindu rituals. Vikram allegedly brought her to India a month later, on February 26, 2020. However, on July 9, 2020, he reportedly sent her back to Karachi, citing visa issues, and made no effort to bring her back since. Nikita claims that Vikram is now engaged to Shivangi Dhingra from Delhi, with their wedding scheduled for the last week of March 2026. She has stated her intention to approach the courts if the government does not intervene.

The Sindhi Panchayat in Indore confirmed that Nikita had lodged a complaint via WhatsApp on January 15, 2025. The Panchayat advised her to travel to Indore for a formal hearing, which she declined, requesting proceedings from Pakistan. Panchayat president Kishore Kodwani said they had written to the local Collector recommending Vikram’s deportation, but no administrative action has been taken so far.

Vikram is reported to reside at B-201 Orange Country, Manikbagh Road, and run a business at KN Sons on Jawahar Marg. The Panchayat alleges that he has acquired property without government permission, violating Indian regulations.

While the Panchayat suggests that Nikita seek justice through Karachi courts, it also emphasizes that Vikram’s alleged illegal stay in India warrants government intervention. Legal experts note that the case involves cross-border marital disputes, immigration law, and property regulations, making it a complex issue for both administrative and judicial authorities.

The developments are being closely monitored as authorities weigh potential deportation and Nikita’s plea for justice.
