A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Venezuela on Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey. The agency said the epicenter was 15 miles (24 kilometers) east-northeast of the community of Mene Grande in the state of Zulia and 370 miles (600 kilometers) west of the capital, Caracas. The Venezuelan government did not immediately release any information about the earthquake.
