Rabindranath Tagore's Mansion Destroyed by Rioters in Bangladesh

The historic mansion of Rabindranath Tagore, writer of Bangladesh's national anthem, was destroyed by radical Muslim rioters. The shocking incident, captured on video, has sparked outrage and calls for justice.

Rabindranath Tagore, who wrote the national anthem of Bangladesh, has been destroyed by radical Muslim rioters. This is the same house of Rabindranath Tagore, where he has penned many world famous compositions. One of the compositions of Rabindranath Tagore, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, 'Amar Sonar Bangla' has been accepted as the national anthem in Bangladesh, but the rioters have now destroyed the house of the same Rabindranath Tagore who wrote the national anthem of their country.

According to media reports, a mob of radical Muslims attacked the ancestral house of Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore in Sirajganj district of Bangladesh. After this, they entered inside and vandalized the house. Officials have formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident.

According to the information, on June 8, 2025, a person along with his family came to visit the Rabindranath Tagore Museum located in Kachharibari, Sirajganj. This place is also known as Rabindra Kachharibari. Here the person got into an argument with the people looking after the place over the bike parking fee. After this person was locked up and beaten up. Angered by this incident, the local people protested by forming a human chain on Tuesday. Later the mob attacked the auditorium of Kachharibari and vandalized it and beat up the director of the institution.

After this incident, the Archaeological Department has formed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the attack. Kachharibari's custodian Mohammad Habibur Rahman told reporters that the authority has temporarily suspended the entry of visitors to Kachharibari due to "unavoidable circumstances". At present, the entire situation of Kachharibari is under the supervision of the department and the committee has been asked to submit its report within the next five working days.
