Suryakumar Yadav trolls Pakistan in post-match press conference; 'IND vs PAK is not a rivalry anymore'

Suryakumar Yadav T20I captain made headlines after leading his side to a six-wicket win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 21. Chasing a target of 172, India wrapped up the contest in 18.5 overs, losing just four wickets in a dominant display.

On the other side, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha expressed disappointment at the dismissal of opener Fakhar Zaman, who looked dangerous with 15 off eight balls before edging a Hardik Pandya delivery to Sanju Samson in the third over. Salman also said, that the catch may not have been clean, admitting 'Umpires can make mistakes,' while also he said his team’s batting struggles despite a competitive effort.

 

After winning, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav trolls Team Pakistan in the post-match press conference. He took a dig on the IND vs PAK rivalry and said, "You guys should stop asking about the rivalry. If the two teams are playing 15-20 games & the score line is 7-7 or 8-7, then it is called rivalry. If the score line is 10-1 or 13-0, I don't know the exact number, but this is not a rivalry anymore."

Surya also said that India holds a commanding record against Pakistan and insisted the results show a one-sided trend rather than a balanced contest.

Salman Agha raised questions over umpiring with disappointment

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha expressed disappointment at the dismissal of opener Fakhar Zaman, who looked dangerous with 15 off eight balls before edging a Hardik Pandya delivery to Sanju Samson in the third over.

“Umpires can make mistakes. To me, it looked like it bounced before it carried. Umpires can also make mistakes. I can be wrong as well,” Salman raises questions over umpiring mistakes.
