US President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on the UN in his address to the United Nations. He accused the UN of failing to establish peace and promoting illegal migration. Trump claimed Western countries are being attacked through migration and dismissed concerns about climate change.

US President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on the UN in his address to the United Nations (UN) on Tuesday. In his speech after becoming president for the second time, he accused the UN of failing to establish peace and promoting illegal migration.

From the podium at UN headquarters in New York, Trump claimed Western countries are being attacked through migration and said these countries are "heading for hell." He called climate change concerns "the biggest hoax imposed on the world."

Trump questioned the UN's purpose, saying the organization only writes "bitter letters" that fail to prevent war. He also complained about the malfunctioning escalators and teleprompters at UN headquarters, which he has targeted during both his terms in office.

Tough stance on migration, warning to Western countries
Trump launched his strongest attack on the UN over migration. He said the UN is funding "attacks on Western countries" and that it is time to end the "failed policy of open borders."

He also targeted London Mayor Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim mayor of a Western capital. Trump claimed that his efforts had ended seven wars, but had achieved no concrete results in the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Gaza conflicts.

He commented on the ongoing war in Gaza following Hamas's October 7, 2023, attack, calling for recognition of a Palestinian state a "reward" for Hamas. He also appealed for peace through the release of hostages.

What did Trump say about Russia, Ukraine, and India-China?

Trump criticized European allies, China, and India for purchasing oil from Russia, but took a relatively softer stance on Russia. He stated that the US was prepared to impose unannounced sanctions on Russia.

Trump recently met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, but no progress was made on the Ukraine issue. He also plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
